So let us start here. Find items around your home that you don't use anymore. For example, I sold my old Snapchat Spectacles and a GoPro and so I could start with a few hundred dollars. Then once I had that bit of money, I started to find things on OfferUp, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, a garage sale, or a thrift store.

Here is some very helpful advice. Meet up and buy locally, sell online using an app like Mercari. You will get more qualified eyeballs selling on Mercari from people searching for those items than you would if you try to sell a camera or a specific video game.

This method is better than selling it locally on Offerup or Facebook Marketplace around your city. Does this make sense? It will save you the headache from driving all around town as well!

You can even open up the Amazon App, go to “search”, tap on the barcode and scan everything in Walmart and possibly find items you can sell on eBay to make a profit. I found that this method is much harder to find items in Walmart. They are normally really good at pricing items and you will still have to take shipping to account, mercari wants their fee, and you’ll most likely be left with chump change.

Do NOT sell new items at the new item price and think you will make a profit. For example, You will have your Nintendo Switch listed on Mercari for a LONG TIME if you sell an open boxed item for the same price you will find at Walmart. What do people use these second hand apps for? To get a great deal.
