Universal Music Group Pulls Out Of TikTok!
HUGE news that's especially relevant for independent artists.
Recently, I shared insights on the crucial role of TikTok Live in free exposure by staying on LIVE. I mentioned that in an email on the last Stage Masterclass free newsletter.
Following our discussion, a major development occurred: Universal Music Group (UMG), which holds a market share of 34.48%, so its entire music catalog removed from TikTok. This sudden action has created a vacuum for new music.
This situation underscores the importance of being active on TikTok now more than ever.
For creators and musicians aiming to expand their reach, this platform offers a vital avenue for growth.
This is the opportunity by posting content until you achieve a follower count of 1,000.
At that point, start leveraging the power of going LIVE to maximize your visibility and engagement.
If you're committed to growing as a creator and musician, embracing this strategy could be a game-changer for your career.
Social media changes. We can all know this.
Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, and even...
Tiktok! It was originally called Music.ly
So how are businesses changing over time going to help you today?
By going LIVE on TikTok you have a better oppertunity now more than ever.
I did it yesterday. The longer you go live, the more exposure you get. You'll keep showing up on the feed, thus giving you continous exposure over and over.
With Instagram, for example; When you go live, all of your fans get pinged at the same time. You'll get a big influx but you'll taper off. Usually pretty quickly.
So again...Unlike Instagram, the longer you go LIVE on TikTok, the longer you show up on everyone's feed.
Ideas:
✅Your live concert... On LIVE
✅The process of creating music. making beats, finding that perfect kick, finding that perfect snare... Your fans want to see behind the scenes. Trust!
✅Practicing for hours on end in your room.
✅Working/Booking your gigs. Cold Emailing/Calling. (It makes those NO's more entertaining, I promise.)
✅Fan requests and riffing. Cover songs.
✅Video games while you play YOUR music/mixes.
The bar of entry is EXTREMELY LOW to start TikTok lives. As long as you meet these requirments:
✅ Be at least 16 years of age.
✅ Follow their community guidelines.
Invite me to your live. I'll join as a guest! In fact, follow me here!
